These types of coins have nearly identical visual elements, with both exhibiting wear and tear only on the highest points. The level of wear and tear is lighter on the AU coins compared to the XF coins. While AU coins have medium-to-full mint luster remaining, XF coins are more likely to showcase only traces of the original mint luster. Date marks in this series are limited to only 1947 and 1948.

Obverse
In the obverse design of 5 Pesos Mexican Cuauhtemoc Silver Coins, you will find the Mexican coat of arms. This version of the coat of arms depicts a powerful golden eagle in a three-quarter profile image as it devours a snake. The duo is depicted on a cactus branch. Inscriptions include Estados Unidos Mexicanos and the coin comes with a notched edge along the border of the design field.
Reverse
For the reverse field of the 5 Pesos Mexican Cuauhtemoc Silver Coins, the mint features an artistic portrait of Cuauhtemoc. The left-profile bust captures him wearing regal, ceremonial pieces and comes with inscriptions of Cinco Pesos, Ley .900, the MO mint mark of the Mexican Mint, 30 Gramos, and a date mark of either 1947 or 1948.
History
The Mexican Mint issued these 5 Pesos silver coins with the Cuauhtemoc design in 1947 and 1948 only. After releasing only 5,110,000 coins in 1947, the Mexican Mint exponentially increased production in 1948 with the release of 26,740,000 coins.
