{{/presale}}The kangaroo is synonymous with Australia and is perhaps the recognizable animal that calls Australia home. The Australian Kangaroo series of coins features a new kangaroo design each year. Collectors of this series of coins eagerly anticipate the new release so they can add the coins to their collections. The 2016 Australian Kangaroo Silver 4-Coin Proof Set coins four of the 2016 silver coins, in four different weights. This collection is a great introductory set for someone just getting started. The coins are .9999 pure silver and are offered in weights of 1 oz, oz, oz and 1/10 oz.
Highlights:
Just 3,000 of the 2016 Australian Kangaroo Silver 4-Coin Proof Sets were made available for the individual collector to invest in. The coins are offered in 4 different weights and are each sealed in a protective plastic capsule.
Your 2016 Australian Kangaroo Silver 4-Coin Proof Set, produced by the Perth Mint, will arrive protected in a black presentation case with a velvet-lined inset for each of the four coins to sit individually. In addition, the coin set will ship to you in a presentation-themed shipper that includes the reverse image of the coin, along with the words 2016 Australian Kangaroo.
Obverse
The obverse design of the 2016 Australian Kangaroo Silver 4-Coin Proof Set features the right-profile portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This effigy was imagined in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley. It is the fourth-generation depiction of Her Majesty to be featured on commonwealth coinage since 1952 when she ascended to the throne.
Reverse
The reverse design of each of the coins that are included with the 2016 Australian Kangaroo Silver 4-Coin Proof Set features the 2016 image of the kangaroo hopping across the Australian Outback. A stylized sun is shown rising in the background, with rays of light stretching to the edges of the coin.
