{{/presale}}The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, was one of the worst attacks to ever take place on American soil. The unprovoked, surprise attack launched the United States into World War II after more than two years of neutrality in the conflict. Right now, you can buy certified-perfect 2016-P Tuvalu Pearl Harbor 2 oz Gold Coins online at Provident Metals.

Obverse
Queen Elizabeth II is found on the obverse of 2016-P Tuvalu Pearl Harbor Gold Coins. This 1998 right-profile design comes from Ian Rank-Broadley and was used on British coins as the fourth-generation effigy of the monarch. The design includes the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara on the Queens head and inscriptions of QUEEN ELIZABETH II, 2 OZ 9999 GOLD, 2016, TUVALU, and 200 DOLLARS.
Reverse
Japanese fighters begin the attack against the US Navy at Pearl Harbor on the reverse side of the 2016-P Tuvalu Pearl Harbor 2 oz Gold Coin. The design shows Japanese fighters coming in low to launch torpedoes at the anchored US Navy battleships in battleship row within the harbor. The inscriptions on this side include 75TH ANNIVERSARY, PEARL HARBOR, MCMXLI, and the P mint mark of Perth Mint.
History
The attack on Pearl Harbor was one of several coordinated attacks by Imperial Japan in a two-day period. Japan was in desperate need of strategic resources from the Pacific region, but needed to ensure the US Navy could not quickly respond to its aggressions. Within hours of the attack on Pearl Harbor, Japan launched attacks against additional US territories, as well as territories of the Dutch and British in the region.
