{{/presale}}As you shop for gold bars online, you will commonly find that there are two types of bars available: minted ingots and cast bars. Cast gold bars are produced using some of the tried-and-true processes for smelting and refining metals. The gold is melted and poured into a prefabricated form to create the shape and ensure a specific weight. One of the most trusted brands in this niche is actually one that is no longer in operation, Engelhard. Right now, you can buy 1 Kilo Gold Bars from Engelhard online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
With your purchase of the 1 Kilo Gold Bar available in this Provident Metals product listing, you will receive a cast gold bar that is individually sealed in plastic. These are Secondary Market bars, a term that indicates Provident Metals did not receive these directly from the original manufacturer. Secondary Market bars commonly feature signs of handling or wear and tear.
Designs
Obverse visuals on the 1 Kilo Gold Bar from Engelhard include the identifying hallmarks of the product. These include the weight, purity, metal content, issuer, and serial number. These markings are stamped engravings set within the surface of the bar. The inscriptions read 9999 FINE GOLD 1 KILO, ENGELHARD, and the unique serial number. These markings are arranged in landscape orientation on the bar. The reverse field of the bar has no stamped engravings or inscriptions.
History
Engelhard was formed in 1902 in New Jersey and was once a global leader in the production of platinum, gold, and silver. One of its seminal achievements was the production of catalytic converters for automobiles using its platinum smelting and refining processing. Engelhard closed its doors in 2006 following its acquisition by BASF.
